[Excerpts] A Gresham woman quietly lost her fight for life Thursday, nearly two weeks after she was gunned down by an off-duty sheriff's sergeant in a triple murder-suicide at a Gresham lounge. Victoria "Vickie" Schulmerich died at OHSU Hospital in Portland, where she had been in intensive care since Feb. 12. "I also have to say Jeff's actions are like a kick in the stomach to us in law enforcement. The sadness and grief and pain his actions caused so many people is difficult to put into words. "My thoughts and prayers continue to be with her family - and all the families in this." Grahn, a 15-year sheriff's office veteran, was investigated in April 2009 after sheriff's deputies received information of possible domestic abuse... Charlotte M. "Char" Grahn, 47, of Boring and Kathleen "Katie" Hoffmeister, 53, of Gresham died of gunshot wounds (also)...[Full article here]
