[IN] Despite victim's stitches and bullethole in the wall, Officer Leist cleared

Delaware County grand jury decided behind closed doors that there wasn't enough evidence to charge Muncie police officer Jeff Leist with assault and battery after he found out his adult daughter didn't go to work that day, went to her house and struck her male friend in the head with his .40-caliber Glock. Leist said that's why the gun was fired - accidently. The daughter's friend suffered a cut to his head that required 10 stitches. Police Chief Joe Winkle said Leist wasn't treated any differently even though he directed responding officers to not arrest Leist.
From Officer Leist's 911 call:
"Some guy was in the house with her. I got him up and hit him in the head with my gun and my gun went off."
