[GA] Officer Bull "inadvertently struck his wife," acquitted, wants job back

(Minor choking?)
Acquitted DeKalb cop wants job back
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

[Excerpts] A DeKalb County police officer who was arrested and fired over a domestic violence charge was acquitted by a jury Wednesday. Evan Bull, 44, is trying to get his job back... Bull's estranged wife told authorities he choked her, causing a minor injury... Hirsh argued that the woman admitted to police that she shoved Bull while he held their small daughter, and he maintained Bull inadvertently struck his wife as he fell. The acquittal means Bull can keep his state certification to work as a police officer... Bull has appealed his firing to a county hearing officer... Police spokesman Mekka Parish said investigators found sufficient evidence to file the criminal charge and to fire Bull for conduct unbecoming a police officer.
